Se presenta el primer registro conocido para Cuba del ciempiés escolopendromorfo Rhysida longipes (Newport, 1845). Los especímenes se recolectaron en el municipio de Marianao en la Ciudad de La Habana. Los ejemplares son probablemente de origen Neotropical pero, en teoría, podrían haber llegado desde cualquier lugar dentro de su área de distribución tropical, la cual comprende Asia, África y América.

Abstract

FIRST RECORD OF CENTIPEDE RHYSIDA LONGIPES (NEWPORT, 1845) (SCOLOPENDROMORPHA: SCOLOPENDRIDAE) FROM CUBA. The first known record from Cuba of the scolopendromorph centipede Rhysida longipes (Newport, 1845) is reported. The specimens were collected in Marianao municipality, Havana City. The exemplars are probably Neotropical in origin, but theoretically, they could have come from anywhere within the species' tropical range, which encompasses Asia, Africa and America.
